A little help with your little guests.
Glassroach is being prepared for release. These notes cover the macOS app; Apple TV, iPhone and iPad versions are also in development.
Keep them under control.
- Hide or resume
- Click the insect in your Mac's menu bar and choose Pause or Resume. Pause hides the roaches; Resume brings them back. The default global shortcut is Control + Shift + R. You can change it in Settings.
- Take a longer break
- Choose Snooze in the insect menu for a timed break. Resume brings them back early.
- Choose when and where they appear
- Settings lets you keep them roaming while you work, show them after an idle period, or show them manually. You can choose a display, hide them in fullscreen apps, and exclude particular apps.
- Shoo them away
- A quick mouse sweep, shake or nearby clicks can startle a roach. They don't change your cursor or intercept your clicks.
Something seems off?
- I can't see any roaches.
- Check the insect menu for Pause, Snooze or an automatic hiding message. Check your appearance mode and selected display in Settings. In idle mode, mouse or keyboard activity hides them. Trial or daily-use limits can also affect availability.
- The shortcut doesn't work.
- Check the shortcut selected in Settings and try another combination if a different app is using it. You can always pause and resume from the insect menu.
- They look too big or too small.
- Open the display section in Settings. Compare the roach with its measurement line and adjust the display size if needed. Body measurements exclude legs and antennae.
- Launch at login isn't working.
- Open the installed app, enable Launch at login in Settings, and check macOS System Settings > General > Login Items if approval is requested.
Trial and purchases.
The planned macOS release offers an explicitly started 24-hour trial. Afterward, one medium roach can visit for 30 visible minutes per device each day. Paused or hidden time doesn't use that allowance. A one-time unlock removes the limits; there is no subscription or automatic charge.
For a missing purchase, use Restore Purchases in the app's purchase window and make sure you're using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Don't purchase again just to troubleshoot. If Apple purchases are temporarily unavailable, try again later or contact us.
